Today, DIMENSION-POLYANT’s position as the world’s largest and leading sailcloth manufacturer supports a sustained commitment of both financial and personnel resources to R & D programs. DIMENSION-POLYANT employs numerous textile engineers, chemical engineers and material scientists to compliment the already extensive practical sailmaking and yacht racing background of the DIMENSIONPOLYANT crew.

This commitment by DIMENSION-POLYANT to research & development has enabled countless national and international dinghy titles to be won, surpassed only by the ever increasing Olympic medal haul by sailors using DIMENSION-POLYANT fabrics. Line honours in some of the world’s toughest races like the ‘Sydney-Hobart’ and the ‘Vendee Globe’ underline the performance and durability, proving the perfect match for Superyacht sailcloth.

Numerous innovations and international patents like X-PLY®, INSERT and Hydra Net® to name but a few highlight the determination of DIMENSION-POLYANT to remain at the forefront of sailcloth technology. The addition of D4® Membrane technology has allowed the amalgamation of several production techniques in lamination and adhesive resulting in the ultimate membrane. Recently DIMENSION-POLYANT has collaborated with one of the world’s leading yarn suppliers to overcome complex laminating issues and produce the perfect membrane for the Superyacht sector. That yarn is ‘DYNEEMA® SK78 (see detailed tests etc on D4® technology pages).
