The 505 World Championships in San Francisco were won by Mike Martin and Jeff Nelson of the US using GPL00 in both their main and jib. The 2nd and 3rd place finishers also used GPL00 for their sails. Conditions were very rough with the typical thermal breezes getting up to 30 knots. Martin and Nelson also won the 505 North Americans the week before the World Championships.

Rick Lyall of Wilton, CT, won the J-109 North American Championships in Chicago. In winds ranging from 5-25 knots, Lyall posted all top 4 finishes to end up 10 points clear of the 2nd place boat. Rick's main and class jib were D4® MP sails.

The J-24 World Championship were won by Mauricio Santa Cruz of Santa Cruz Sails in Brazil, using a brand new D4® MP genoa, 260SF HTP® mainsail and F75 spinnaker. He won a close battle over Chris Larson with North Sails who was using an ODL09/06 genoa, 260 SF HTP® main and F75 kite as well.
Michel Desjoyaux was the first to cross the finish line at the harbour of 'Les Sables D'Olonne' on the french atlantic coast. The 43yr old frenchman completed the race in a record 84 days, 3 hrs, 9 mins on his boat Fonica. The record was previously held by fellow frenchman Vincent Riou. Desjoyaux acheived his second victory, having won the race eight years ago, but this time breaking the course record by over 3 days. plus ...

The Swedish Championship 2008 in the H-Boat Class was sailed out of the beautiful fishing village Stenungsund on the Swedish West Coast. Against a record size fleet of 70 boats. 5 races of 8 were won by Henrik Edmann using DIMENSION-POLYANT AP HTP® plus in his Jib and Mainsail.
