The magic of the home country

Two years after his last sailing adventure, "Alone Against the Wind", Wilfried Erdmann took to the water again. However, this time he had a totally different agenda. With a classic Hansa-Dinghy he sailed for five months on his home waters - the Baltic Sea, Bodden, rivers, channels and inland lakes. The shallow draft of the 5.80 m "Kathena Gunilla" allowed Erdmann to go places he could not go with a yacht. Unlike his first trip, the main feature of his journey was time: in 144 days he sailed only 1268 miles. But as with his first trip, his sails - main, jib and genoa - were made from DIMENSION-POLYANT Sailcloth.
