Sailcloth Technology Update, Kempen, Oktober 2005

After a convincing 2004 Olympic year with a score of 18 out of 33 medals for DIMENSION-POLYANT, 2005 was a very successful season, too. Numerous wins in world, continental and national championships in Europe, North and South America and the Asian Pacific rim. DIMENSION-POLYANT’s high performance woven sailcloth HTP Plus continued to dominate many one design classes like Optimist, 420 and 470 class, Dragon, H-Boat and J-22, to mention a few. On the laminate side, things were going equally well for DP. Especially sweet is the win of the 30 year plus old Nicholson 33 IROMIGUY over the latest breed of ocean racing machines in the 2005 edition of the legendary Fastnet race. IROMIGUY’s immaculately prepared campaign utilized a well composed inventory of GraphX carbon laminates and D4 membranes for her convincing victory. In the same race, the trimaran TRILOGIC took line honours in her class with a set of woven Hydra-Net Radial sails. This nice display of this patented sailcloth’s superior performance was even more convincing since the boat had previously used the same sails in last year’s 2800 mile TRANSAT race across the Atlantic Ocean and other long distance races.

This sailing season is not over yet and more DIMENSION-POLYANT customers will be collecting silverware at high calibre regattas around the world before the year 2005 ends.
