Tyra PLY® Pure PLUS and Tyra PLY® Lite Skin® are film-free and ultra-thin, delivering outstanding shape stability and tear resistance. This is ensured by the inner matrix of Tyra UD® tapes made of black aramid and ultra-PE filaments. These tapes are laid out multi-axially along the primary load paths, providing exceptional off-angle support—even in high wind strengths.
In addition, the use of this technology results in a significant weight reduction of around 40 percent compared to traditional laminates.
This material enables sailmakers to implement sophisticated designs for various applications.
