If you are an ambitious sailor looking for a particularly low-stretch material that can handle the rigours of extensive cruising, then you should definitely take a closer look at our DCX onyx. Our famous crusing laminate is now available in an elegant black look. It has been developed with the clear aim of producing an extremely durable material that also performs. Of course, at Dimension-Polyant we appreciate that as well as stretch and longevity characteristics it is also very important to provide you with a material that will cope with all aspects of cruising such as reefing and furling sails with ease.
The combination of a polyester scrim, or grid, reinforced by an X-PLY® embedded between two films which are smoothed and finished on both sides by a special woven taffeta fabric. This combination gives impressive stretch resistance paired with robustness against mechanical influences. The taffeta fabrics on the outside of the sandwich laminate are robust against mechanical influences, chafe and tearing, and additionally treated with our proven UVM® finish, which brings further conveniences: protection against UV radiation and mildew.
